Total Hip Replacement (THR), also called Total Hip Arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure in which a damaged hip joint is replaced with an artificial joint (prosthesis). 🦴 Why is it Done? The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint. The damaged ball (head of femur) is removed. It is replaced with a metal or ceramic ball.
